St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church

In a unique set of circumstances, the pastor of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, was approached by a single major donor who offered a sum that would be enough to found and build a brand new Catholic classical school at the parish. The parish eagerly started work on the project, opening the school in 2022 with 40 students in the parish hall and religious education classrooms. By fall 2023, student enrollment had grown to 140. The enthusiasm for the school is palpable.

Unfortunately, rising building costs, inflation and other factors grew the budget for the brand-new building to exceed the major gift that began the project. The strategy would need to be unique; clear messaging for the project was essential due to the evolving situation. St. Gabriel leadership partnered with the Steier Group to complete the final phase of fundraising. With a hands-on approach, expert graphic design and full-service planning and execution from the Steier Group, St. Gabriel funded the final phase of building the school. St. Gabriel Classical Academy’s new building, now well under construction, is slated to open for the 2024-2025 school year. Additionally, the parish sought to fund ongoing projects including the installation of a magnificent bronze statue of the annunciation and completing a new rectory on the parish premises.
