THE CHALLENGE
Located in a growing community north of Austin, Saint William faced a challenge common to many parishes in Texas – it needed more space. With more than 650 monthly activities, the existing facilities were not able to meet the needs of the parish. The choir held some practices in the director’s home, while other groups met off campus in a local restaurant. With the steady growth of 25 new families joining each month, parish leaders realized they had long since outgrown their facilities.

THE SOLUTION
The Steier Group reached deep into the parish community to test support for a campaign to build an activity center as well as reduce the parish’s debt from a previous expansion campaign. Based on the positive results of that planning study, the Steier Group designed and implemented a multifaceted communication and fundraising plan that garnered the support of all parish segments. The successful campaign raised 146 percent of its goal and paved the way for the parish to build a new parish center while also reducing its debt.
